AEROSOL FIRE EXTINGUISHING TECHNOLOGY
There is a new product to provide a system for an effective fire protection within the new generation of fire extinguishers. Meet our aerosol fire extinguishers with strong fire extinguishing performance, fully eco-friendly, cost-effective which includes solid form of potassium salts, that is completely harmless to health and environment. Which also does not require pressure vessels or pressurized containers as well as does not need 100% non-leakage condition within the media.
How does the aerosol extinguisher work?
If we want to define the word of “aerosol”: Briefly, it is a multi-phase system, which is formed by dispersing very small solid or liquid particles which has a size of less than 10 microns in a gas formed media. This multi-phase system is suspends in the volume in which fills the volume for a long time without settling.
Basically, aerosol fire extinguishers are contained inside the metal canisters as a pressed block of solid compounds which are produced with alkaline metal salts and other auxiliary chemicals. Fire detection systems these solid chemical compound blocks in case of a fire.
When these solid compound blocks are triggered and activated by mechanically or automatically with a signal of a fire detection and extinguishing system to the triggering device which is located on the metal container of aerosol fire extinguishers. Therefore, this signal starts the redox (reduction oxidation) reaction within the non-pressurised container which generates highly effective condensed fire extinguishing fog.
This fog contains potassium carbonate and bicarbonate with the avarage particle size of 2 microns, water vapour, carbon dioxide and nitrogen gas.
NAFEG aerosol fire extinguisher gas has physical (cooling effect) and chemical extinguishing effect on fires.
The broad surface and high quantity of small solid aerosol particles provides physical extinguishment. Which also chemically emerges unstable yielded chemicals (free radicals) that are produced from the exothermic reaction of the fire which also feeds the combustion and these free radicals (hydrogen and hydroxyl compounds) acts as a fuel within the fire and after the discharge of the aerosol gas these free radicals reacts with the components of the aerosol gas and this reaction aerosol gas components will absorb these fuels of the fire and obstructs the free radicals to not substitute with the fire reaction which allows NAFEG to extinguish fires with a chemical effect.
Aerosol fire extinguishers are used as the most efficient and cost effective comparing to the gases of Novec 1230 and FM200, which are alternative to Halon gases.
